Great Backyard Bird Count

Bird Count

Great Backyard Bird Count at Asbury Woods

Join us at Asbury Woods as we participate in the annual Great Backyard Bird Count, a community science project supported by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society. During this annual event, birdwatchers worldwide are invited to spend anywhere from 15 minutes to 4 days sharing details of the birds in their area, providing valuable data that can be used to track the health and migration patterns of birds everywhere. Anyone can participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count, from beginning bird watchers to experts. Basic birding tools will be available, and birders may participate both out on the trails and from the windows inside the Nature Center. Asbury Woods naturalists will be available during the first hour of the program to teach you the basics of backyard birding.
