Scouting Opportunities

Asbury Woods offers a variety of programs for both boy and girl scouts and for varying levels of scouting.

Girl/Boy Scout Family Fun
Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe Day

Receive expert instruction in snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Enjoy an instructor led ski or snowshoe hike on the trails. Afterwards enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and make a s’more by the fire. Held every January.

Date:  Saturday, January 27, 2018
Time:  Session 1:  10 a.m.-12 p.m. (Note: An afternoon session will be added if the first session fills up)
Age:  Adults & children (minimum age 6 yrs.)
Location:  Nature Center
Fee:  $10/person, preregistration and prepayment are required

Registration Deadline:  January 24, 2018
Space is limited. Participants: Maximum 50/Minimum 20.

Junior and Brownie Spring Activity Days

Asbury Woods Explorer Post 808 is offering a fun-filled spring day of environmentally-oriented activities. Junior Scouts will fulfill the more involved requirements for the “Animal Habitats” badge. Brownie’s will fulfill the more involved requirements for the “Bugs” badge.

The Juniors and Brownies each get their own special day at Asbury Woods Nature Center at 4105 Asbury Rd, Erie, PA.

Girl Scout or Boy Scout Maple Production Tour

Learn why maple products are special to our area and how plants make their own food. Learn how to select and to tap the “right” trees for the sap and see how Native Americans and pioneers made and used maple products in our very own Sugar Shack. Held every March.

Bear Scout Activity Day

Scouts will complete the requirements for the new "Fur, Feathers, and Ferns" Adventure Requirement".  Download registration form.

Webelo Fall Scout Activity Day

Webelos will complete the requirements the "Into the Woods" and "Into the Wild" Webelos Arrow of Light Elective Adventure Requirements.  Download registration form

  • Boy Scout Leaders: Please call the Nature Center at (814) 835-536 and ask to speak to Kathy Mosier.
  • Girl Scout Leaders: Please refer to your S’more book to find the Asbury Woods Scout Days listed there and follow the instructions for completing your registration online.

Proceeds from the Scout Activity Days benefit Explorer Post 808 and Asbury Woods Nature Center.
