School and Group Programs


The mission of Asbury Woods is to provide all members of the community with opportunities to experience, study and enjoy nature.  To this end, Asbury Woods offers a wide variety of educational programs throughout the year for school and youth groups as well as the general public.


SCHOOL/YOUTH GROUP SESSIONS

Our curriculum is tailored for pre-school through 8th grade. We offer two-hour programs for $3.50 per child with a minimum of 10 in the group. We offer 1-hour programs for $2.00 each and hour and a half to two hour programs for $3.50 per child with a minimum of 10 in the group.

Fall Seasonal Discovery

How do animals and plants prepare for the coming of winter?  Come to Asbury Woods to go on a Fall Detective Nature Hunt and look for clues to answer this question.  Discover the changes in nature that occur during this beautiful season.

Snow Shoeing and Tracking Adventure

C'mon out and discover the beauty of Asbury Woods in the winter.  Learn tracking skills and try out trekking on snowshoes just like the Native Americans and early pioneers.

Maple Syrup Time

Everyone loves maple syrup and students will love this sweet program.  Learn to identify maple trees, hike through an operating sugar bush and experience syrup production techniques from Native American times to today. 

Cool Summer Fun

Enjoy the cool shade of Asbury Woods during a summer hike along the trails.  A trained guide will lead your group to discover our swamp, forest and field.
