Dogs (Canis Lupus Familiaris). Humans (Homo Sapiens). You don’t have to know the scientific names to know that dogs and humans are two different species. Each has a very different way of communicating. For instance, people do not usually go belly-up to acknowledge another person who outranks them, but dogs do. At the same time, humans often speak to their dogs very similarly to the way they speak to each other, which create situations that are difficult for dogs to understand.
While humanizing dogs may be the current trend in dog training, this program presents more effective alternatives. Participants will learn how to use body language in a way that makes sense to their dog. The pros and cons of some other current trends in dog training will be discussed. Let Certified Dog Trainer, Meagan’s Mom – Think Like a Dog, provides insight as to how that precious pup of yours perceives the human world. Meagan’s Mom puts many concepts into human scenarios to help participants understand and sets them on their way to Think Like a Dog.
This will be a small group seminar with discussion highly encouraged. Adults Pre-registration required.
